It is also a token of gratitude to the organizations, institutions, and individuals who have contributed to supporting children with special difficulties.

The program was attended by Vice President Dang Thi Ngoc Thinh, Chairwoman of the Vietnam Children’s Support Fund; Minister of Labor, Invalids and Social Affairs Dao Ngoc Dung, Vice Chairman of the Board of Trustees of the Vietnam Children’s Support Fund; Chairwoman of the National Assembly’s Committee on Social Issues Nguyen Thuy Anh, as well as leaders from ministries, departments, and sponsors who have made significant contributions to the cause of protecting, caring for, and educating children.

In the opening speech, Vice President Dang Thi Ngoc Thinh stated that the care, protection, and education of children have always been given special attention by the Party and the State, especially for poor children, children in disadvantaged areas, and children with special circumstances, in order to provide them with better living conditions, integration, and development. Following this good tradition, in recent years, alongside social development efforts, the Party and the State have implemented the socialization of child protection, care, and education, mobilizing all social forces to gradually increase the responsibilities of families, society, and the community for this work, to better protect and care for our children.

Over nearly 28 years of operation, the Vietnam Children’s Support Fund at all levels has mobilized over 6.8 trillion VND, providing support to nearly 32 million disadvantaged children nationwide. The Fund has raised over 1.25 trillion VND and hundreds of thousands of tons of goods and artifacts to assist over 7.1 million children with special difficulties throughout the country.

In 2019 alone, the Vietnam Children’s Support Fund mobilized over 128.2 billion VND and provided assistance to over 128,000 children with special difficulties through various programs, including heart surgeries, eye disorders, cleft lips, scholarships, construction of classrooms and boarding houses, and many practical projects that have made a significant impact on society.

Vice President expressed her hope that organizations and individuals would continue to work with the Fund to organize meaningful activities and take care of more children, especially those with difficult circumstances and disadvantages. She called on organizations, individuals, and groups to contribute to the program in order to contribute to the cause of protecting, caring for, and educating Vietnamese children, with the message “Give the best to children – Today’s children, Vietnam’s future,” so that our children will become the future builders of a prosperous, beautiful, and civilized Vietnam.

“In 2020, we mark an important milestone after 30 years of implementing the International Convention on the Rights of the Child. Responding to the implementation of the Convention, I hope that the care, protection, and education of children will receive increasing attention and investment from the Party, the State, and the society. The rights of children should be better implemented,” emphasized Vice President.

The “Spring for You” program is an annual activity of the Vietnam Children’s Support Fund in collaboration with organizing units, aimed at expressing gratitude to sponsors and mobilizing resources for disadvantaged children in Vietnam. The program has been implemented since 2008, and through 12 editions, it has raised over 1.1 trillion VND and provided support to nearly 1 million children through programs such as scholarships, clean water supply systems, support for children with congenital heart defects, eye disorders, and motor disabilities, as well as the construction of classrooms and boarding houses for children in difficult and mountainous areas, assistance for orphans, street children, and abandoned children, and timely relief for children affected by natural disasters and epidemics.

In the 13th edition of the “Spring for You” program, delegates had the opportunity to watch and listen to the dreams of disadvantaged children and join the Vietnam Children’s Support Fund in exploring the dreams of these children and making their dreams come true through touching videos. These videos showcased the story of La O Ty, a Ba Na ethnic boy living in the SOS Children’s Village in Quy Nhon (Binh Dinh province) who dreams of becoming a football player, the story of Pàng A Nhà, an orphan from a poor family who is dedicated and studious in pursuing knowledge, and scenes of student life at Ban La school (Sinh Long commune, Na Hang district, Tuyen Quang province) where the Vietnam Children’s Support Fund supports the realization of children’s rights.
