The ‘Run For The Heart 2019’ event raised 9 billion VND for children with heart disease. 350 children with congenital heart defects will receive free surgeries funded by the Vietnam Heartbeat Foundation, thanks to the contributions from the organizers.
With nearly 9 billion VND in donations and the participation of 24,000 people, new records were set, making the 7th Run For The Heart program a success. The event was organized by Gamuda Land Vietnam in collaboration with the Vietnam Heartbeat Foundation. The events took place on November 10th in Gamuda City, Hoang Mai District, Hanoi, and on November 24th in Celadon City, Tan Phu District, Ho Chi Minh City.
Of the nearly 9 billion VND raised, Hanoi raised nearly 2.8 billion VND, and Ho Chi Minh City contributed over 6.2 billion VND. The record-breaking number of participants reached nearly 24,000, with 9,000 participants in the Hanoi event and 15,000 participants in the Ho Chi Minh City event.
Mr. Wyeren Yap Vooi Soon, General Director of Gamuda Land Ho Chi Minh City, expressed that the company has been an annual companion of the “Run For The Heart” event, aiming to spread the message of love and compassion in the community.
According to the representative, during more than 10 years of business in the Vietnamese market, Gamuda Land has always strived to fulfill its commitments to community responsibility through various social activities, including the “Run For The Heart” event. The company will continue to support the program to help children with congenital heart defects.
The “Run For The Heart 2019” event in Hanoi raised over 2.7 billion VND.
It was also the first year that Gamuda Land Vietnam successfully collaborated with the website Vietrace 365 to organize the online run “Run For The Heart,” attracting 1,500 registrations from various provinces and contributing over 200 million VND to the program.
The Ho Chi Minh City event raised over 6.2 billion VND.
The program’s appeal not only lies in the large number of participants of all ages but also the participation of famous artists such as singer Ha Nhi Idol, Trong Hieu, ST Son Thach, actor Kim Ly, Miss Ngoc Diem, singer Y Kroc, and model Hai Dang, who joined the event to raise funds or ran directly on the streets.

After 6 years of connecting heartbeats, the 7th Run For The Heart event featured an official theme song composed by musician Duong Khac Linh and performed by the program’s ambassador, Ha Nhi Idol, with a powerful voice. Through music, the program’s humanitarian message has spread and inspired the community.
The event was also accompanied by organizations and businesses such as Ricon, Hoa Binh, A Chau International School, VinaCapital, Fecon, Couple TX, CBM, Sunlight Vietnam, Mita Door, Uu Viet and Phuc Hung Holdings.
The running event attracted the participation of many celebrities, volunteers, and a large community.
The Run For The Heart program, which was first held in 2013 in Celadon City, Ho Chi Minh City, has attracted special attention from the community due to its high humanitarian significance and its impact on promoting collective health training and improving the quality of life.
After 7 years, the program has raised over 30 billion VND, providing free surgeries for more than 1,000 impoverished children with congenital heart defects. The run has become one of the highly anticipated annual charity events, spreading across the country.
According to statistics from the Ministry of Health, approximately 16,000 infants are born with congenital defects in Vietnam each year, of which about 7,500 require surgeries. Therefore, there are still thousands of children in need of community support to have access to healthcare for learning and playing like their peers.
